Is Googling Your Therapist a Good Idea?
Googling your therapist is considered "best practice" by many these days. And to be honest, I'm glad you did!
Hi - I'm Myriame!
Feeling safe in counselling is vital to therapeutic growth (aka you making the necessary explorations, connections and healings to create positive change in your life). So when it comes to counselling, Google is your friend.
Now that you're here, I thought I'd share a bit about me so that you can make an informed decision around your counselling experience.
I am authentic so that genuineness may live within the therapeutic space and be shared. In this way, your authentic self is given the opportunity to be seen and felt. This may not happen all of the time (truth be told, we aren't perfect!), but it is work in progress.
I am curious. I have a love of knowledge that drives my passion to support clients. Curiosity is one of the most essential tools for psychological understanding, and bringing it into counselling puts the puzzle pieces together.
I am grounded and present. I hold the space for you to dig deep into your stories, to fetch meaning from the unknown. Grounding exercises (breathing, body awareness) help reorient clients to the here-and-now when stories become overwhelming. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out.
If you feel like you've "googled" enough about me and want to get in touch, send me an email.
